As a native Tennessean and someone who loves the game of basketball, you can’t argue who is the best women’s coach of all time: Pat Summit. I grew up cheering on the Tennessee Volunteers, but I was also lucky enough to attend Coach Summit’s camp twice when I was a teenager. I even got to meet the legendary 2008 Lady Vols team! To this day, I’m still a die-hard Tennessee fan and have passed on my love for the Vols to my daughter, and I consider myself lucky that I got to meet and learn from one of my idols.
I was born in West Tennessee and lived in Covington until I was a freshman in high school. I have fond childhood memories with my brother and being raised in a rural small-town area like Covington. My mom’s side of the family has always resided in Clarksville, which led us to migrate to Middle Tennessee. I attended Montgomery Central High School where my grandfather, Fred Thomas, served as the head coach for the girls’ basketball team and agriculture teacher for 40 years. He had a huge impact on my life, as well as many others in the community. I thoroughly enjoyed being closer to my grandparents during my teenage years.
I have a 12-year-old daughter named Leah who loves swimming, basketball, dancing, and playing outside with our dogs, Jesse and Roscoe. We often spend our weekends watching movies or sports, spending time with family, cooking, or taking hikes in the woods. I also enjoy competing in 5Ks, fishing, shooting trap, or anything that involves being in the water.
I am the first female in my family to go to college, which is something I am very proud of. I began my career in Human Services and earned my Associate’s degree. Later, I studied education and graduated with my Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies for grades K-8, following in my grandfather’s footsteps and becoming a teacher. After graduating, I taught in three of the five states that I lived in, and first grade was my favorite age to teach!
I have called Washington, Kentucky, Missouri, and New York home at some point in my life, but there is no home like Tennessee. I moved back in 2022 to be closer to family. While changing career paths, I still wanted to be a part of a community. Luckily, I found that since working here at Crow Estate Planning & Probate. As the Human Resources Manager, I get to combine my passion for teaching and systemization within our team, while also meeting and assisting our clients.
