A Little About Me
As a native Tennessean and someone who loves the game of basketball, you can’t argue who is the best women’s coach of all time: Pat Summit. I grew up cheering on the Tennessee Volunteers, but I was also lucky enough to attend Coach Summit’s camp twice when I was a teenager. I even got to meet the legendary 2008 Lady Vols team! To this day, I’m still a die-hard Tennessee fan and have passed on my love for the Vols to my daughter, and I consider myself lucky that I got to meet and learn from one of my idols.
I was born in West Tennessee and lived in Covington until I was a freshman in high school. I have fond childhood memories with my brother and being raised in a rural small-town area like Covington. My mom’s side of the family has always resided in Clarksville, which led us to migrate to Middle Tennessee. I attended Montgomery Central High School where my grandfather, Fred Thomas, served as the head coach for the girls’ basketball team and agriculture teacher for 40 years. He had a huge impact on my life, as well as many others in the community. I thoroughly enjoyed being closer to my grandparents during my teenage years.
I have an 11-year-old daughter named Leah who loves swimming, basketball, dancing, and playing outside with our dog, Jesse. We often spend our weekends watching movies or sports, spending time with family, cooking, or taking hikes in the woods. I also enjoy competing in 5Ks, fishing, shooting trap, or anything that involves being in the water.
