- Kentucky, 2024

Born and raised on a family farm in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, my journey to the law is deeply connected with my roots. Growing up, I never really worked a traditional job like many of my friends did. Rather I grew up working on our family farm, where my parents still live and work today. Two of the most important qualities passed from one generation to the next in many working families are determination and integrity. Pursuing a career centered around estate planning will allow me to help these same families not only pass down strong character traits, but to also preserve a lasting legacy for future generations.
Although dedication to my legal work is crucial, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends whenever possible. To date, I have traveled across Europe, walked along the beaches of Hawaii, and hiked several miles in Glacier National Park with my friends and family. As a part of an active family, I enjoy both water and snow skiing, and spend quality time doing both each year.
While I have enjoyed spending time with different people, my favorite person to make memories with is my wife, Maci. We met at WKU where we fell in love before moving to Lexington where I attended law school. Some of our favorite hobbies include cheering on the Kentucky Wildcats, cooking dinner together and spending time with our Australian Shepherd, Harper.
I began my education at Western Kentucky University, graduating in 2020 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Economics and minored in Finance. I joined Sigma Chi Fraternity and was selected as a Spirit Master, which served as an official ambassador for the Office of The University President. During my time at WKU, I also worked for United Southern Bank over the summer.
After graduating from WKU, I attended the University of Kentucky for law school. I was a member of the Federalist Society, and during my summers, I interned with Crow Estate Planning and Probate as well as Bluegrass Land Title in Lexington. I believe these previous experiences allowed me to immerse myself into the world of legacy and succession planning.
Upon graduating in 2024, I was happy to accept a full-time position with my previous internship here at Crow, and will serve the greater Hopkinsville area to assist clients with their estate planning and probate matters. I look forward to meeting you and would love to craft a plan that fits your unique situation!

The Crow law firm was absolutely wonderful from start to finish.the entire team was professional, knowledgeable and courteous. Above all they were absolutely caring in helping me through a difficult time. I highly recommend this law firm.all my needs were taken care of and were handled in a timely manner…I am forever grateful.
I cannot recommend Thomas Steelman highly enough! From the very start, he made the entire process of setting up our estate trust absolutely painless. His expertise and clear explanations turned what I expected to be a daunting task into a smooth and stress-free experience.
Not only did he handle every aspect of our estate trust with great attention to detail, but he (and law firm colleagues) also took care of transferring over our home deeds so we didn’t have to deal with the hassle of going to the county office ourselves. That alone saved us so much time and stress!
I honestly thought the process was going to cost a small fortune, but I was pleasantly surprised by how reasonable the pricing was. Most importantly, though, Thomas gave us peace of mind knowing that our hard-earned assets are protected and will go exactly where we want them—without placing unnecessary burdens on our loved ones.
If you’re looking for a knowledgeable and professional estate trust attorney, Thomas and team are the ones to trust. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
John and his team did an amazing job helping my family get our affairs in order. Could not recommend them more!
